Metal Plating
At Aldine Metal, we work with partners who offer comprehensive plating services to enhance your metal parts' functionality, aesthetics, and durability. Unlike silk screening, which adds a surface design, plating involves applying a thin layer of another metal onto the base metal, creating a new outer surface with unique properties. This versatile process offers a multitude of benefits for various industries.
We understand that each project is unique, and we are equipped to handle custom requests. Whether you need a specific color match, a particular type of ink, or a combination of materials, our experienced team will work closely with you to achieve the desired results.
Benefits of Plating Services
Plating with a harder metal significantly improves the surface's ability to withstand abrasion and wear, extending the lifespan of your products. This is particularly beneficial for components exposed to friction or harsh environments.
Certain plating materials, like silver, provide superior heat resistance, safeguarding underlying components from deformation and maintaining structural integrity. This is crucial for applications involving high temperatures, such as engines and machinery.
Raw metal can have limitations in conductivity. Plating with conductive materials like copper or nickel significantly enhances electrical performance, making components ideal for applications requiring efficient electrical connections.
Plating offers various finishes, from classic chrome and gold to sleek black or vibrant colors. This allows you to create a visually appealing aesthetic that complements your product design.
Enhance product visibility and branding with eye-catching graphics on packaging components.

FAQs
No, however, all hardware can be put in at paint and the threads are masked. If PEM head studs need to be filled, that must be noted. Depending on the finish and hardware to be added, the hardware may need to be inserted after the plating process. For further details on a specific part, feel free to contact our sales team.
They are pretreated at the paint stage, however, some customers require plating in addition to the paint and the painter is notified of this.
Yes, we can provide paint or plating chips if requested. This is done frequently so the customer and Aldine are on the same page in terms of the color.
